12/27/2023 0 Comments Best bioshock infinite enb![]() More often then not tears just bring you a one time boon in the form of health, salts, ammo, or a gun - you consume/use whatever it brought you and that's pretty much it. Tears where the closest thing we got to a substitute and while useful in battle, they aren't exactly flexible or open to being used creatively. you can easily stack the deck in your favor. If you engage in a smart location where you have things like water, oil, turrets, etc. In turn this makes choosing where you fight an important part of combat. You could pop em off as you came across them in each encounter or you could choose to bank them up and then use a bunch all once to create an ambush for a heavy hitter. And then you had explosive barrels that you could creatively use. Some of the survivors of that fight would then run when their health gets low, only to get poisoned by a station you hacked prior to starting the fight. So you could get these cool situations where you'd lead a pack of splicers over oil, ignite the crowd, and then watch like half of them dive into a puddle - so you zap that for a multikill. There were simple rules like: oils burns, water can be electrocuted, enemies set on fire will attempt to extinguish themselves in water, enemies at low hp will attempt to flee combat and find a health station, etc. While no where close to the level you'd find in a title like Breath of the Wild, Bioshock 1 and 2 still had it some simple systems that when combined led to some really cool gameplay moments. And even then you're restricted by the gear's class (only can equip 1 torse piece, 1 pants, etc.) Overall less control of your build.Įmergent gameplay/Environmental hazards. So unless you save scum you next to no control over which gears you get over the course of a playthrough which destroys your ability to go for a cohesive character build (like making a tank, specializing in melee, etc) and due to the fact that there are more gears available than actually gears dropped over the course of a single playthrough it's entirely possible you'll never get one that you particularly want. Infinite ditched this system in favor of RNG gears that are once again restricted to classes. ![]() 2 took this system and built on it by both expanding the number of gene tonics in addition to lifting the class restrictions allow you to mix and match in any combination giving you the most amount of freedom and control in regards to persistent character upgrades in 2. In 1 you had gene tonics that were restricted to classes (combat, engineering, physical). Then you have features that I think got downgraded in Infinite. The ability to choose any weapon you've collected at any timeĪnd those are features that were just completely removed from Infinite. The ability to hack mid combat without breaking the flow of combat The option to research mid combat for bonuses Multiple ammo types to choose from for each weapon In terms of depth to combat/gameplay you have: Infinite might have the more modern feeling controls but I think Bioshock 2 easily has the most depth and allows for the greatest level of player agency.
